So far we have had our first sonogram where we heard the heartbeat. That was so exciting and made everything seem much more real for us. The heartbeat was pumping away at 118 beats per minute. James saw the heartbeat fluttering on the monitor, I couldn't see it but that was from the way I was laying. I couldn't get a good view of that monitor. It didn't matter, though! I was just so happy to hear that wonderful sound!!
Our next appointment is the Monday before Thanksgiving and we will meet with an OB nurse to go over a bunch of information. I will be about 9 weeks at that time. We hope you will continue reading our blog and enjoy this journey with us!!

Baby's brain -- both hemispheres! -- is growing fast, generating about 100 new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form, and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place. The baby is about the size of a blueberry.
