9 weeks & 2 days

Hooray! We went to the doctor today for our "New OB Patient Appointment" and 2.5 hours later, we got lucky and had another ultrasound! Yay!

The appointment was very thorough. We sat with a nurse for awhile and answered tons of questions about family history, she went over some classes to take at the hospital and gave us a little goody bag filled with information. After that, we saw the doctor and had an exam and talked some more. Then we went into the little lab room where they took six (6!!!!) vials of blood. Finally, we thought we were going to talk to the doctor again and be out of there, but we got a lovely surprise and they did an ultrasound! (James said he would scan the picture.) It was SO great to see the little baby again. That little ball of cells is definitely forming into a baby and there was a very strong heartbeat. (Around 170.) I was so relieved to hear the heartbeat again. Eventually, we do go in to see the doctor and he just said that everything looks great! The doctor said that he didn't do the ultrasound because he was concerned about anything, so that's good.

All in all, it was a great appointment, even though it was long. ;)

This is at 7 weeks.

8 weeks 2 days

Sleep: Still good! I am so tired that I fall right to sleep at night - and very early, too!
Best moment this week: Any time that food actually sounds good!
Movement: None, yet.
Food cravings: Not a lot sounds good to me. :( Mostly salty food. Tonight I wanted lasagna, and that's what I made. It was delicious!
Gender: Your guess is as good as ours!
Belly Button in or out? In.
What I miss: Nothing yet...well, except not being nauseous. ;) It's worth it, though.
What I am looking forward to: Seeing our little Baby H at the next ultrasound and finding out the gender!
Weekly Wisdom: What's done is done...there is no point in worrying.
Milestones: I bought a Be Band to wear with my pants that were very uncomfortable from bloating, I guess. This thing is the best invention ever!!!

____________

I am still feeling good! Just tired and nauseous, so that's normal!! We go back to the doctor in a week and will have a lot more information about pregnancy in general! We are so excited, even though there won't be an ultrasound, it's still a step.

Check out the little widget on the side, it will tell you how big the baby is right now!

7 Weeks

Welcome to our little slice of blog heaven! Here you will find updates about what is going on with us and our growing little baby!
So far we have had our first sonogram where we heard the heartbeat. That was so exciting and made everything seem much more real for us. The heartbeat was pumping away at 118 beats per minute. James saw the heartbeat fluttering on the monitor, I couldn't see it but that was from the way I was laying. I couldn't get a good view of that monitor. It didn't matter, though! I was just so happy to hear that wonderful sound!!

Our next appointment is the Monday before Thanksgiving and we will meet with an OB nurse to go over a bunch of information. I will be about 9 weeks at that time. We hope you will continue reading our blog and enjoy this journey with us!!

From TheBump.com:
Baby's brain -- both hemispheres! -- is growing fast, generating about 100 new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form, and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place. The baby is about the size of a blueberry.
